Abstract

●More fractions, new container types and a focus on CO2 savings create a need for initiatives that can optimize the collection of waste. At the same time, new technology, including IoT-sensor, creates the opportunity to use data in more complex route calculations and reorganize waste collection into a more dynamic collection rather than collection with fixed emptying interval.

●Aalborg Forsyning must therefore:

●Understand the relevance of different data parameters in relation to a more data-driven waste collection

●Design a business case with a focus on potential gains, but also potential negative effects

●Prepare an assessment of the scaling potential from an economic, environmental and service point of view
